Conclusion
In general, Holiday Inn Expresses are newer in new building or at least recently renovated. Holiday Inn’s are probably on the older side. Expresses were designed with the business traveler in mind. Internet access in every room. Little things like having a set of plugs next to the desk (up high, not down low to the floor) so you can power up your laptop computer and whatnot. The curved shower rod was great but that is being spread out to the entire hotel chain. Breakfast is the big difference with the buffet type setup at the Expresses. Holiday Inn’s usually have a restaurant on site but its made to order and breakfast can take 30-60 minutes. Having said that, it all depends on the 2 you’re looking at and it could very well be switched around.
