Where is Alta?
Alta has been named the northern light city, and for good reason. We were able to track northern light research on Alta all the way back to France’s “Le Reserche” expedition in 1838. Alta is located just below the Aurora Borealis Oval, and since we have an inland climate and often sunny weather, Alta is the perfect destination for experiencing fire green in the night sky. Alta is known as very high altitude and receives more snow than Utah Resort, which averages an annual 514 inches of snow (13.1 m). Alta is one of the three remaining ski resorts that prohibits snowboarders, along with nearby competitors Deer Valley and Vermont’s Mad River Glen. Alta ski area features long, straight, autumn-line pitches. Among the most famous and most well liked are Alf’s high thieves, high Eddies venues, Stone Crusher and Bald Chutes. · Nordlyskatedralen

This place is in the middle of Alta center, vis a vis Scandic Hotel and Amfi Alta shopping center. There are pools, climbing wall, water slide, sauna, and cafe.

· Alta Museum – World Heritage Rock Art Center
In here you can walk on lanes arranged around the stone carving area. Fantastic view of Alta Fjord. The year 2000 for 6200 stone carvings shows the life of hunters and fishermen. Museum with historical exhibits, cafes with panoramic views, shops. Tour for group reservations in advance. The museum offers audio guides in English, German and French.

Where is Snowbird?
Six miles up a little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird is located just a beautiful 45 minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport, making the same day Skiing and flying reality. · Brighton Ski Resort

Both Alta vs Snowbird have the highest snow-base cout of every Utah resorts as well as the south facing slopes to make the snow around longer than before.
